We offer two-year apprenticeships to over-16s who want to work in the cycle industry. We aim to employ at least one new apprentice a year, if funding allows.
As well as working for us, our former apprentices can be found in several local bike shops, including Planet X, J.E James and Halfords.
Apprentices are trained up to the industry standard Cytech 2 level and are based in our Heeley workshop throughout their apprenticeship. They do however get to work on all aspects of our business so you will also see them out and about at Dr Bike clinics, the Bike Kitchen, University of Sheffield’s Cycle Hut and the Rotherham Journey Matters Hub.
Our apprentices are normally graduates of our Alternative Education programme for 14-16 year-olds, but sometimes we take on older apprentices. As training apprentices is a costly and time-intensive thing to do we rely on grant funding to keep the programme going.
When apprenticeships become available we will advertise them on this site as well as our Facebook page. Our apprenticeships normally start and finish in September.
